Tardy Again!

Been a while between posts again! No good reason! Just long Summer days, late nights, early mornings and lack of enthusiasm! With Autumn however creeping up on us, the light is once again becoming more interesting in the mornings throwing some beautiful shadows on the place. Love it!
Not a huge amount has been happening here at Candlestick Farm. Undoubtedly the biggest event has been a short but very special visit from Geoff's Mum Nancy. From Queensland so used to the slightly warmer temperatures, Nancy took to the cooler Tassie climate like a duck to water and is about the only person l know who can still look glamorous in a hat like this!!
We had a lovely time and still miss her!!
Here are the Public Holiday Lillies for you Nancy!
And the unknown pretty white flowers on the wire fence!
Looking forward to seeing you next time! xxxx

Little Visitors

Wandering around the garden this morning l peered at the Tree Dahlia that Geoff put in last year. It was covered in teeny tiny little frogs!! Very cute!! l counted at least 10 before they all hopped off into the undergrowth!
Some were so minute it  was hard to photograph them!

Ever had the urge to go and sit down in a paddock of Summer grass and lie back and watch the sky.....((((((((((((( play soft pretty tinkly music.)))))))))........with two cows??????? ( cancel music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)  We think the horses are bad ???? Try these two!

Hello there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zucchinis on their way for chook food were stolen within a minute................

 l was pushed................
Shoved................
Licked................
Rubbed....................
And chewed..............!!!
And inadvertently created my own special photo without even knowing!!!!!!

Success!

The last of my duckling saga! Six healthy strong ducklings hatched. One got stuck and the egg went cold. Dan to the rescue...........a few nights on a hot water bottle and under a heat lamp then back with Mum. So 7 out of 7 and all going well. A joy to watch as usual!
The little last one.........sitting next to his thermometer.......94 degrees constant!!!
 Fast asleep!
Under the ever watchful eye of everyone else!!!
Lining up for a paddle!
 My turn!!
The one on the left is the little one from above  only minutes after l put him back out with the others.. Being looked after by Valentine. The first one to be hatched!
Altogether. Well done Peg............well done Me!!!
And it's time for the Public Holiday Lillies to raise their strange little heads out of the bare earth!!! Geoff and l are never sure if they are called Easter or Christmas Lillies....hence our 'own' name for them! Works for us!

Proud Peg!!!

After Peg's Quoll attack she went broody! Unusual as you wouldn't think that stress and injury would do that but it did. Poor Peg sat on her infertile duck eggs with her sad blood covered little face and her stumpy wing! How could l not feel soooooooo sorry for her! She hatched some baby chickens last year and they were all taken by a passing White Goshawk. l relented this time and put an advert on our local Classified Website looking for some fertile duck eggs. l lady l know quite well through work saw the ad and knew about Peg and her mishap ,so happily gave me a clutch of Indian Runner Eggs. Very exciting as the first one hatched yesterday!!!
This photo is very bizzare....... he is looking decidedly like a rabbit!!!
 Peg is very happy!!!
For less then 24 hours old he is a monster!!!
Eating, drinking...having fun!
Six more to go!
