Good Friday

Today the shop is closed. One of only a few days in the year that it is! Hooray, Geoff and l get a day off together! The day was forecast to be warm so we headed off down south with kids, dogs and kayaks for an afternoon on the beaches of Southern Tasmania.Treeka loved the day out and couldn't get enough sand and sea when we first got there!
The kids headed out in the kayaks................. it was all calm and safe..........
Until Breanna and Hetty capsized!!!
We weren't too concerned as all we could hear was hysterical laughter and splashing as they struggled to climb back into the kayak. Hetty had a Life Jacket and Breanna sat on the boogie board they were towing behind. There was no way they could climb back into the kayak as it was full of water so the only option was to hang on to it and start paddling back to the shore! They slowly started making their way in then Dad and Nick came to the rescue and towed them back the last few hundred yards.
 Their hero!!
Glad to have their feet on the sand again l think!
Ably assisted by Geoff as they hauled into shore (as Cathy and l sat and sipped our wine!)
 Lilli just sat!
They were quite puffed as the kayak l must say weighed a ton!! Poor Hetty (who actually only has one ventricle!) was freezing and it took a few towels, blankets and cuddles from Mum to get her lips back from blue to pink! An adventure that will no doubt be re-told many many times in years to come!
Then it was down to the pretty town of Dover for fish and chips on the wharf amongst the Crayfish boats and seagulls, then home again.
All tired but a very enjoyable day had by everyone!
