House Treats!

Today a lovely unexpected windfall came our way. (thank you Gilly!) l decided to potter along on my day off with my little bonus clenched in my hand to my very favourite second hand shop The Margate Train.
Its a wonderful place full of exotic, interesting and ramshackle things all combined! l decided to treat the house as opposed to buying wire or star pickets and here are the lovely finds l bought.
A wonderful rusty old wrought iron bed head. This is going to look fabulous in my flower bed! Not to be painted though. l think l will have a 'rust corner' somewhere!!
A gorgeous hall runner! Pure wool made in Belgium. Trouble is, its a bit smelly!! It belonged to a lady who had lots of dogs apparently! It wasn't in the shop as the owner had only just bought it and was taking it home to give it a good scrub! l got it for a much cheaper price "as is- smell is!!!!" Its worn and patchy and faded in parts but l love it! Great colours.
And this wonderful tacky brass and glass light!! Its huge! The big ball thing in the middle is amber coloured glass. Its just great! Our ceilings are so high a table lamp this tall really helps the balance in the room. All in all a great collection of "house presents" and things that mean even more because of where they came from!
