Tip Shop Trip!

A quick trip to the local Tip Shop yesterday scored me some fine treasures!!!! First of all this lovely little wooden step stool. Don't think l would possibly like to STAND on it, but l am sure it will look pretty somewhere...!
l also found a big tall candlestick! Could do with a few of those around here!!! This one nestles in where the Silver Birches go and has blended in beautifully!
It actually came WITH candles which is a rarity !
And my favourite thing was this beautiful light!! As soon as l saw it l knew it would be perfect for the Gypsy Caravan! Very ornate ............l love it!
It should clean up a treat!
And our wet drizzly Summer continues.... Keeping everything very green for this time of year.
It just means l have to keep on mowing and mowing!!!
Compared to what we usually are doing in Summer!!
l think l prefer the green!!!

Crafty Stuff!

l have had fun this past week making some things for the garden. Any bare spot is getting filled with something that WONT die! l had my first go at Mosaics which l really enjoyed! My first job was a paver for the garden path. This is the first one which looks a bit odd on its own, but once l have a few it should look interesting!
l then made this little bird bath with broken tiles l had left over. l could really get into this Mosaic stuff l think! Another good reason to scour the Op Shops for coloured plates now!
l also made a garden pyramid for my Banksia Rose to climb up as it keeps falling on the ground.
All good fun and l think l will head off today to make some more!

Baled!

Phew! Don't think its going to be great hay this year. Not after all the rain it's had on it! But last night it was baled up under headlights and till dark we put as many as we could away. l am off to work today so Geoff will get in what he can before MORE rain!!!
The heavy dew this morning means the remaining ones will have to be stooked up to dry out a bit more.
Any idyllic visions we might have had of bringing in the hay in glorious sunshine is definitely NOT Happening this year! Overcast, windy, cold, damp ground. The tractor even got nearly bogged in the paddock with the rake on! Crazy stuff for sure!
Fingers crossed they don't go mouldy inside now!!! Eeeeeek , the Perils of Hay Time!!!!! Who would ever want to be a farmer l just don't know!!!

Like Mother like Daughter.....

Our baby geese have now just about grown up to be big geese!!! Luckily (l hope ) the two of them are both girls, so l think be will be keeping them. Bruce is very happy now to have three girls in his charge!
One of them has a smooth head , but the other one has this lovely little tufty top notch!
Just like her Mum!!
Gorgeous! l do love the geese....
And the ducks............l love the ducks too!!!

Hay Time

Cut at last!!! Got home from work this evening to find the hay man had been and all our precious crop is now lying on the ground waiting to dry.
Hopefully like this time last year we will get it baled on Australia Day!
Fingers crossed now for the weather to hold out!

Funny Faces!

Another oh too short a visit from my brother and his gorgeous family from Sydney. We had a lovely time and the girls loved being here as much as we loved having them!!As usual they helped out on the farm as much as they could...even getting down and dirty chopping claws off Wallaby skeletons to make claw jewellery!!!
Feeding the sheep.....
And the cows.............
Herding geese.........
And spoiling the big fella beyond belief!!!
Plaiting his mane......
And giving him lots of pats............
And lots and lots of cuddles.............
And we mustn't forget  all the funny faces.................
We had funny faces that even the sheep found quite hilarious!!!
Then Geoff joined in!!!
Until India told him how daft he looked!!!!!!!!
Goodbye girls. We miss you heaps and see you next time!! xxxxxxxxxxx

Sleepy goats and Geraniums!

Taken through the loo window early this morning! Two pals cosied up together on their favourite seat.
And poor little Tinks!! Relegated to the damp grass!!!
My herb garden has gone crazy. And in typical fashion, the things l WANTED to grow (like the Basil and my special above ground water cress) failed miserably and the things l wasn't too fussed on (like the Nasturtiums and the Celeriac) have taken over and squished everything out of the way!
Terribly pretty though! l must say l have never seen such an amazing array of different coloured Nasturtiums before. Whatever happened to good old orange?
 Just gorgeous!

Bicheno

Last weekend was a quick trip to the north of the State to a fishing/holiday town called Bicheno. l went up to stay with my brother who  had rented a beach shack up there.. He is down from Sydney with his beautiful family for a holiday. We went in two cars as l had to come back earlier to go to work. Guess who got the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few sightseeing stops along the way. This is the Spikey  Bridge built on the original old road by Convicts.
The place was perfect. Just as you would hope an old beach shack would be!
With all mod cons of course!
And a perfect place to enjoy the view under the shade of this huge old tree.
Plenty of time for sea gazing!
And building in the sand!
We went seal watching!!
And generally relaxed and had a wonderful time in a beautiful peaceful place.
