Sunlight pouring through the bedroom on to one very happy cat!
So September a huge truckload of pine bark mulch arrived and after sitting under cardboard for a month or so l got around to mulching over the top of all my new flowerbeds. But l don't seem to have a picture of my finished result!
Just one of what it looked like before! Also planted out with dogwoods and a little copse of Silver birches in the middle.Beautiful flower buds erupting everywhere....
Ah yes, and l decided to dig up some concrete paths! Why not!!
All you need is a crow bar and a wheelbarrow after all!
Lilli was non too impressed and came out for a stretch, a pee and a yawn and then went back inside....
So up it all came............
And down went the gravel....
Then the edges! A perfect job for Spring.
l must have got overly excited as l then started on the main path that goes up to the back door.....
And l ripped all that up too!
And some chunks were quite big.....
And there were lots of them!
But they made a perfect all weather surface in the goat yard for those wet Winter days when everything turns to mud
Full approval from the girls too
So then l decided l needed ANOTHER path under the Walnut Tree to MEET the new path in the middle of the lawn so l dug up more! Although this was easy as it was only grass!
Done!
And as I don't seem to have a photo of the finished result in September l have stolen one from October as it really did look rather lovely once it was all finished..
We had snow in September. Not to ground level but up around the hills....
And more frosts.Just in case we got too excited!
The ponies started shedding their winter fluff. Insky gets an unbelievably thick coat in Winter (must be his Scottish blood) and l'd say every baby bird for miles around benefits from having fur lined nests courtesy of him himself!
Geoff read what he reckoned was the WORST book he had EVER READ................SO much so he ripped it up into a thousand pieces once he finished it (yes, he finished it!!!)
Then threw it in the fire and burnt it! So NO ONE would EVER have to read it AGAIN!!
And to finish on a calmer note here is a beautiful rain drop sitting perfectly on top of a baby Lupin.
Nature's perfection....
