A Bridge to Nowhere?

Today we became the proud owners of a bridge!! We don't NEED  a bridge, we don't really have anywhere to PUT a bridge........ but it was free and well...................why not???

It looked a bit precarious but it fitted on the ute perfectly! The people we got it from had just made a new one to span their fishpond. l had asked what he planned to do with the old one and he said he was going to burn it!!! He was more than happy for it to go to a new home, so we drove over to his house this morning and picked it up! Now ..........where to put it! Geoff thought he looked quite fine up there on top but we decided it (or he!) couldn't really stay up there on the back forever so we turfed it over the fence into the orchard and now it straddles our waste water run off!!!!!

Not really a very glamorous span for such a splendid free bridge................

But l think it looks quite pretty tucked away there!

Maybe one day it can have a real pond to cross over,but for now it's all about make believe!!!!
