Bye Bye Privet Hedge!

Last weekend l had a bit of a clean up and decided it was time to rip out a small clump of privet hedge that sort of blocked our view into the garden. It's sooooooooooooooo fun and easy chopping and hacking things down isn't?? It's just sooooooo NOT fun and easy having to clean it all up afterwards! What l thought was a reasonably small hedge. (two bushes really) expanded into a mountainous pile of wild crazy limbs and branches that l then had to very boringly deal with at the end of the day!!! There IS a ute under all that!!
Three big trips down to the bonfire site in the paddock. l couldn't believe ALL that privet came from one tiny hedge! It must have been so compressed!
Tipped out ready for an Autumn bonfire...
Watched by two horses who were waiting for a visit from the farrier. Privet is incredibly toxic to animals and can kill cattle, so no chance of these two getting a nibble from this lot!
Clips was born and bred on a big farm up North. Up to the day he left, he lived out in big paddocks with mobs of other youngsters and mares. A ute, especially in Winter , generally heralded the arrival of some sort of food stuffs like hay . To this day, the sight of a ute turning up anywhere in his vicinity causes great excitement and interest as he hopes maybe some tasty treat might come flying off the back!   No such luck this time big fella!
Although l did throw a broken Silver Birch branch over the fence for them to play with!
