Quinces anyone?

Last year we had what appeared to be hundreds and hundreds of Quinces on our tree. l seemed to be picking them up off the ground forever.
This year we have so many l decided yesterday that an early prune was needed before the limbs started to crack and break off! l also decided to tally them up and see how many l collect. It's such a shame.. so much pretty fruit and so very little you can do with it. l mean...how many jars of Quinces paste do you need??
What l picked up off the ground and with the few branches l lopped l counted 262..........
And that's only a fraction of what is still on the tree!  I am heading for a guess of about 600. We shall see how good my estimate is as Autumn approaches!!!
And a home at last for my Narnia lantern that has been tied with baling twine to  a fruit tree for about two years! It's STILL tied with baling twine but l think this will be its permanent home.
