And meet our new Ute!!! We picked it up today!!! Its old and done a few miles so we won't be whizzing into town with it too many times! Its diesel, has a tonneau cover on the back a wooden tray which is great and racks front and back for the kayaks! We can build a removable stock crate for the back so we can pick up our own sheep if we need to! There are so many things we need a Ute for here it will be great to have one at last!!
Oh and one sad story.................and NO laughing please..................we lost one of our little baby chickens. We have two hens, one with a black chick and one with two, a black one and a red one. Yesterday afternoon l noticed the little red one had gone. It was odd as l had been outside most of the day and couldn't imagine a goshawk coming down into the chook pen without me hearing the commotion. Geoff got back from work and we went into the shed to see if we could work out where it was. l looked down and under a brick was a little leg. l picked up the brick and there it was.............flat.................totally flat. Perfectly still in one piece just completely squashed. l thought it was very sad but Geoff just burst out laughing!! When l asked him what was so funny he said that it just seemed weird going to look for a missing chicken and then thinking 'ahh l wonder what's under this brick..........ah ha the missing chicken!!!!'. l rather coldly explained that l only lifted the brick up in the first place because l SAW its little foot poking out but he still saw only the funny side of its poor little demise!l guess you are wondering HOW a chicken ended up UNDER a brick in the first place? Well the brick was on a ledge and l think maybe the big rooster might have gone past and dislodged it and by some sad twist of fate and bummer bad luck it landed ON the little chick as it went past................l hope no one is laughing out there......................
