Not ours yet as these little bundles of trouble are only three days old! Hopefully all going well we will be getting them on 8th February when they will be three weeks old!!! More bottle feeding.l must be mad!!! They are both girls, Anglo Nubian x Toggenburgs. l love the little black one with the white ears!!! They were actually triplets but the little brother has been promised to someone else. l must say l really dislike the dairy industry whether it is commercial or home based as this place is. Lovely people who love their animals but these little girls will be taken from their mother in a weeks time and locked away to be bottle fed before l take them on so the owners can get 100% of the mothers milk. Just a softy l know but l think l would be happier sharing the milk then stressing out the mother and all her babies. The boys generally get knocked on the head at birth and in some extreme cases the kids are taken away as soon as they are born and when the mother turns around there is nothing there. Harsh and sad.
But anyway the by product of this industry is that there are always poor little orphaned kiddies needing a home , hence them heading our way in a couple of weeks.
The third little one born was a boy and had no chance of survival with these two very boisterous girls. He weighed only 1.8 kg when he was born and was rejected by the mother anyway. He now lives in the house and sleeps in a box next to the owners bed. He is the most tiny thing l have ever seen and no photo can do justice how minute he is. He would be about the same size as Lilli l would have to say. He was so backwards in everything, but seemed to be doing quite well. Hopefully he will survive and count himself a very lucky little kid!
