Poor old garden is suffering this year with all the warm weather and lack of any Summer rain. l try not to water anything too much. Only the newly planted trees and plants.
This year however my two and three year old Silver Birches are stressing greatly in the heat and are in fact giving us an early Autumn show and going yellow .
Not all of them. Just the ones in the orchard. We have massive rock shelves around here, so l am assuming these guys might not have been able to get their roots down very far before they reach warm dry rock!
It's pretty, but not quite the same effect in 36 degrees as on a chilly cool Autumn day!
