Super Plant.

Last year l was given a big bag of Dahlia bulbs. l think it was in November as l planted them straight away and they were just stunning all Summer (and still are now).
Yesterday l cleaned out the boot of my car ( a once yearly event...well..... for me anyway.......) and there under a whole load of rubbish (that tends to accumulate in a boot.....well mine anyway!!!).... all shrivelled , dry and very dead looking was a Dahlia bulb! It must have fallen out of the bag. It's spent the entire Summer in the boot under god knows how many degrees of heat .........but......it looked like it STILL had a bit of life left in it................So l put it in a pot and kept it very damp and within ONE week l have this!

Isn't that amazing! That's 6 months in a stinking hot car (and we all know how hot cars get!). No soil, no water, it's missed an entire growing Season ......but that's not going to stop it! Not quite sure what l do with it now as the frosts are just about to hit and this little fellow never even flowered! Needless to say it will get a very special place in the garden for it to SHINE next year!

No wonder they are one of  my favourite flowers!!
