New pen and new paddock!

l spent the massive majority of today building a new goat pen for the little baby we are getting tomorrow. Yes, l know there's nothing like cutting it fine! l have had 4 weeks to do this so leaving it till the last day is perfectly OK!!!! l sectioned off a part of Toggles and Lizzie's pen so that when the new one is very small she can see them but not be with them. She will also have access to outside where the other two can't go. Took me forever but was quite pleased with the result.
Toggles spent the whole time watching me work (when she wasn't interfering that is!) l wonder what she will think of the new one tomorrow?
Just about had time before Geoff got back to take the Ute up to the top paddock and collect a whole load of mulching hay for the new flower beds we are putting it. They will look fabulous when they are done!
When Geoff got home we moved the animals into the hay paddock for the first time. We cycle the paddocks in three week stints to kill off any full on worm cycles in the grass. That way each paddock has a 6 week rest in between grazing. As expected they all LOVED this paddock!!! Freshly mowed. Green grass. Flat, no weeds, no rocks and LOTS of Willow!!! The cows went mad and flew around like mad things!
 Blue especially!!!
Have you seriously ever seen such a fat cow!!!! Go Aunty Jack!!!
The sheep were a little bit more staid and non plussed and soon discovered the tree in the middle. l think its about to get a haircut!!!
Toggles as usual selected the dry dead grass option on the OTHER side of the wire in the next paddock!!!
