Sheep Feet!

This evening Geoff and l brought in the sheep to give them all a hoof trim! It wasn't particularly easy as some were longer then others and some had very hard tough feet indeed! Anyway we got them all done although l was a bit unsure how much hoof and heel l could trim back. Sheep's feet are very different to a horse as l think you can cut into the heel whereas with a horse you can't. l SHOULD have checked it out first on the Internet but l didn't until tonight and saw that yes l can shave off the heels quite severely if they have over grown. Next time!!! Geoff will kill me when he sees l have put this photo on! Throwing a sheep isn't as easy as it looks! This is Omar our ram who weighs only probably about 10 kilos less then Geoff! He's a big wide boy and I'm afraid it was quite humorous watching Geoff trying to get him over!!!!! He doesn't actually look that big in this photo but he really is a monster sized sheep!!!
On Google though, l found all sorts of interesting sheep hoof trimming contraptions! Some quite elaborate!! l think our milking stand should do the job quite nicely next time.
This one here is quite bizarre!!!
 Poor sheep!!!
Looks like they have been around a few years!
Sort of like ours?
Blimey!!!!!!!!  Some of them look like they have been made by people with possibly way too much time on their hands??
Is there actually a sheep in there???
Toasted sheep??? Looks like a Cafe Sandwich Press!!!!
Whoever would have thought???
