Daffodil Stooks!

Last day of my actual holiday today! Just the weekend to go and back on Sunday. It's been such a good time off and we are so happy with the work we have done. The weather hasn't been fabulous but it IS Spring so we cant complain or expect anything better or worse! Today we fixed all the rails to the front fence in readiness for the pickets to go on. With this amount of fence it's all definitely going to get painted first BEFORE the pickets go on! As it's a paddock divider as opposed to a fence dividing a lawn in a suburban street, these pickets will be 1200mm high as opposed the more common 900mm. We wont be buying them all at once as it will be a bit too expensive so they will probably go up in job lots of 25 a week over the next couple of months!! It's all about the budget!!! Will look so fabulous when it is finished though!! Cant wait!
Lilli and Treek sat in the Sun and observed!
After lunch Geoff headed out across the paddock again to fence off some areas from the animals to plant shelter trees in. l took the easier option and stooked up all the daffodil stems!! An idea given to me a while ago and put in place today. Great idea! No more flapping floppy daffodil stems with grass growing all around them. Now they are neat, upright and easy to mow around until they finally wither back into the ground. Red ribbon would have been nicer though....next year!
Then just enough time for another quick bonfire as daylight faded away. This time in the orchard with the ducks.
 And Lilli!
The ducks had a strange fascination with the fire and not even the smoke seemed to worry them!
Strange things!
And a perfect place to admire the stunning blossom on the cherry tree. Just starting to gently blow away now whenever the wind picks up. Just beautiful..
