Wonderful!! Well done Geoff.......he has to get most of the credit for this bit as l had gone into Huonville for supplies when this got done!!
Then along came a load of sawdust!!! Little Max who has sore feet spends all night standing (or sitting) in his stable. He doesn't HAVE to but he chooses to!!! As it never rains in there the ground has gone rock hard like a concrete floor. A delivery of sawdust and MORE shovelling has given him a soft squishy comfortable bed to stand or sleep on at night.
Raked to perfection by Geoff and with old rails secured at the edge to stop the sawdust being kicked out it looked good enough to sleep on ourselves!!
The big fella was impressed!
So was the little unicorn even though he got led in on his side!
Then we headed off to one of the main jobs of the day!! Converting the fence at the front of the house from a wire sheep fence to a picket fence like the rest of the garden. Luckily it was relatively easy as we only had to dig 4 new holes to add to the existing ones and remove 4 steel star pickets. The wallaby fencing can stay in place until all the pickets go up (which will take a while!) so we don't have to worry about the little critters getting into the garden!
A quick trip into town to get the rails..............
And before long the posts were concreted in the ground ready for the rails to go on tomorrow..(or the next day!!)Clips had a quick try out of his newly finished hitching rail!
With herbs in boots!!
And Geoff and Max shared a contemplative moment during a rare glorious burst of sun shine in the late afternoon.
Another great day..........we sooooooooooooooooo don't want to have to go back to work!!!
