So bright and breezy l woke up on Sunday morning and went off to the big community Garage Sale held at the beautiful Palais Theatre in our 'soon to be new home town!'
The irony of it was that l WENT with a boot load of rubbish and RETURNED with a boot load of the same!.... Well maybe not....... l was extremely proud of my purchases which included two exquisite little brass incense holders, a couple of red and gold tea lights, 6 lovely pale red glass champagne glasses from Yugoslavia of all places (if one is to believe the spiel!!! )
and my 'Piece de Resistance"a gorgeous deep red wine glass with an extremely solid
heavy brass base and stem.
l love it!
OK, so the glass is actually holding a tea light at the time of the photo but that was just to give it glow and life .... purely for the photograph....it WILL eventually hold nothing but wine.....
So my day was good. Finished off with a quick drink at the Longley International Hotel after work.
Home of the Longest Huon Pine Bar in the World!!
Hey what is it with me and big red brick buildings today??
Tomorrow the packing begins again in earnest... its just always nice to have an extra special day every now and then.......
oooo dan, i love your new glass. will have to come with you next time the garage sale is on! x
