Game On!

Woke up this morning to an uneasy truce in the 'who gets what bed' department. Lilli was firmly ensconced in her chair, refusing to look at anyone and Pushka was just looking plain mean as she tried her best to intimidate Lilli off!

It appears it is THAT time of year again.........As you know, we have a large rather handsome Rooster who about 60% of the time goes by the name of Mr Magnificent. The OTHER 40% he is generally known as Mr Bastard. Today was apparently his Name Changing Day as he determinedly attacked and ripped my jeans to a shred!!! It is as a rule a bit unusual for them to attack the front of you. They normally fly up from behind when you are not watching. He had already done that and this was in retaliation to me trying to basically get my boot under his body and send him flying across the yard. l failed......he won......... Mr Bastard- 1 Danni- 0

BUT...... l have a weapon.....................Mr Yellow Rake with Great Big Eyes! Purchased today at Mitre10 for $7.50.Money well spent indeed! Roosters will mainly attack when you look away. Mr Yellow Rake with Great Big Eyes will be the eyes in the back of my head as l walk across the yard and will be a magnificent tool to hurl Mr Bastard across the yard when he tries it again!!!  Game on...........l'm ready...............!!!

We then spent an hour or so up the back paddock this afternoon chopping and burning blackberries. We got quite a bit done which will be great when the new grass comes through.

We will beat these blackberries yet!!!

We also came across this dauntingly large Eagle feather! It's hard to actually see how huge it is!  (and why does my boot look like its floating??) It is 16 inches (or 40 centimetres) from tip to toe. Big!
