Cats and Quilts

Off to work for both of us but up early enough to enjoy breakfast watching the lashing wind and rain outside! A lot of rain but hey its Show Week! Doesnt it always rain during the Show!? Everywhere???
Found a lovely interesting piece of timber outside in the shed which we have turned into a very adequate coat rack, Much needed to hang all our wet weather gear on  at the moment!
Trying to make the bed this morning only to find Possum snuggled up in the middle of it. Try as we might she would not shift and ended up being shoved right up to the top under the pillows. Even when l pulled the quilt up and threw the cushions on she still refused to budge so a compromise was made. l made the bed but left one little corner of the quilt turned down so she could stay there!
This lovely quilt was actually made by my very clever Mother. Even more so the fact that everything was stitched by hand no machine used at all! Amazing detail, its really very impressive!
So walking out of the bedroom past the spare room and there is Pushka asleep on the bed on another quilt also 100% hand stitched by clever Ma.
This one is really quite old now and was made for me for my birthday in 1986
This one really is super special as most of it was made up of old remnants Mum had around the house and has ended up a wonderful collection of memories from when we were young. Pieces of one of Mum's evening dresses, old curtains, bridesmaid dresses my sister and l wore, bobbles off lamp shades......the list is endless. Its very precious and Pushka isn't actually allowed to sit on it so she  luxuriates on a special blanket placed there just for her!
