Goats!

For a wedding present Mum and Dad have promised us a couple of goats for the place! There aren't too many breed choices over here in Tassie mainly a meat goat called a Boer and the ever popular Nubian's and British Saanens.
There are lots of beautiful goats around which l would love but living on a tiny island at the bottom of Australia restricts the choice a bit!

l do love Anglo Nubian's though!

 This fellow is GORGEOUS!!! He would never get cold down here!

They are devastating to vegetation though given half the chance! Hence the Sahara Desert!  Geoff had better watch his veggie patch! There is a saying that goats will spend 364 days of the year thinking about and working on getting into your vegetable garden and you foolishly (AFTER they have )spend a measly one day trying again to keep them out.,..... they then have another 364 days to work out another way in.................

 Oh and they are amazing climbers too!

Having a goat will be wonderful but always a challenge! Can't wait!
