Geoff and l have decided to build a gate at the bottom of our drive. Not for any particular reason. One is to keep everybody out! We had a gate at Glen Huon and we used to like shutting it at night, a token gesture to keep the world out and shut ourselves into our own little kingdom at night! Same thing here we like the idea of wandering down our drive on a Sunday evening and closing ourselves away from the world! There ARE more boring practical reasons of course! One is so we can let the sheep in the drive to eat the grass and also when the paddocks are very wet we can run them on the hard gravel to keep their feet in better condition then if they are in permanently soft ground. So we began this evening and put in two fence posts as we still have to get the gates.Dodging rocks! There were a few!.
We then took the kids for a walk,to give them a run and encourage them to start nibbling at grass (and blackberries!) they seemed to enjoy it but they make it difficult to walk as most of the time they seem intent on trying to trip us up!
Site Manager kept an eye on them of course!
The three remaining geese are growing incredibly fast. They have graduated to outside now as the weather is a lot milder. We got back from our walk peered over the fence and found them enjoying sitting on the warm earth! Very sweet!
