Huon Show

Spent most of today at the Annual Huon Show . The Upper Huon Fire Brigade do the takings on a couple of gates so it was an early morning start for us at the Showgrounds. Its always a bit of fun with everyone in holiday mode. The horses as always were beautiful and for the first time this year we were lucky to have on display a team of 6 ENORMOUS bullocks working with their handler which was a real treat to watch.
l think its wonderful that someone has taken the time and made the effort to recreate a part of our past which is so very rarely seen nowadays. Bullock teams were such an integral part of the Huon Valley as well as most of Australia Like l said,a real treat to see them.
l had to come home a little bit earlier then Geoff as l had to feed the Devil herself! Houdini? No probs, just give me another couple of inches and l will get over ANYTHING!
l nailed a few planks of wood to a couple of chairs so she has a bridge and a platform to play on which she loves! She teeters right on the end plank leaps off with a huge twist then runs around and jumps on it again!
Geoff came home not long after so we enjoyed the beautiful evening mowing the lawns, planting veggies, taking a walk through the paddocks and basking in this beautiful place.
Just a few of the flowers sprouting up in the garden.
The hay paddock is finally taking off and not even the wallabies can keep up with the grass growing. Hopefully we will get a few hundred bales off it which we can keep some and sell  enough to cover the cost.
The beautiful pom pom tree bending over with the weight of its pom poms!
Pushka posing amongst the pom poms!
Possum not wanting to be outdone posed the hay paddock!!
