First Day of Summer?

Yesterday Geoff and l set about making a small fenced off area near the Fire Tank for seedlings ,potting plants, wood and general garden stuff! It wasn't a big job really but it took us a while having only hand tools and a saw!
We are pretty happy with the result and will eventually swap the grass (less mowing!) for a gravel base to make it more of a work area. Here is Geoff with a very worn cutting disc making his way through a sheet of panelling for the side.
Yesterday was absolutely freezing! Howling wind all day with a few bursts of sun to keep us sane. Had some torrential rain and even  a hailstorm! Spring was going out with a vengeance that's for sure! First day of Summer today and we have just crept up to 9 degrees!
The sheep run for cover when it rains into their shelter. It makes me wonder how they cope on the moors and hillsides of Scotland and Wales when l see our soft things huddling out of the weather. Have we bred them too soft in Australia?
The baby lambs snuggled into what ever they could, be it a pile of hay of just a wooden box to keep the wind out!
Got  this rather sweet photo as well yesterday of Omar the Ram having a quiet moment with his two first born sons. Mum was nowhere to be seen.....what was he saying to them? ''Sons. one day ....all this will be yours....."?
