Rain!

Today it rained! A LOT! l don't mind rain. l quite like it really.

l enjoy rugging up and heading out in it as long as l have a hat on and a good coat. Lilli hates the rain but l suppose animals do!

 l love the fact that it fills our tanks up so we know that even though its SUMMER (hear that Rain gods??) we have plenty of water to drink and water the garden (IF we needed to....) Photo below courtesy of Mum and Dads tank overflowing this afternoon!

l love the fact that our garden is still as Spring green as it was in October. The lawn is emerald coloured and all the bushes and shrubs still have that fresh look about them. l love the fact that every morning after the rain everywhere is damp and clean, no dust no cracked earth. Its wonderful!

BUT......................................Its December?? Its Australia........Its a Southern Hemisphere summer!.Am l wrong to be complaining here? Is it wrong to look forward to not having to wear gumboots to go out on the lawn? We have lawns and paddocks of moss! Beautiful soft and silent to walk on but it ain't grass!
We have paddocks still squelching underfoot and we have in fact a rivulet running through the middle of our hay paddock right now!  It gets worse..................................Spiders
hate the rain.They come inside! THAT'S WHERE I LIVE!!!!!!

They go in cars....................they head anywhere that's warm and dry!!!!!! Ughh! MORE...............
We have leeches!!!!

You go near the river they LEAP on you and start high tailing up your gumboot looking for flesh!!!! l have yet to have a first hand experience of my reaction when l pull up my shirt one day and discover some disgusting black worm attached to my belly sucking out my blood but l know its not going to be pretty!

 l feel bad to whinge as to have no water is far far worse then to be awash with it...but............just one wee whinge before Christmas is OK????
