A Waterfowl Afternoon!

This afternoon l let the ducklings out of their goshawk /wedge tail eagle/ crow and falcon proof pen for their first foray into the outside world! They had a wonderful time under the very watchful eye of their excellent first time Mum!
The walked around for a while then sat........walked around then sat..................it must be what ducklings do!
A couple of tense moments when the more adventurous got mislaid on the other side of the fence!!!
Under the ever watchful eyes of the geese. The white one in particular who l think is turning into a rather splendid gander!
The other two l think (hope) are girls as they are a bit more timid. The darker of the two has this hilarious little top knot on her head!
Lizzie looked on also, with one of her little lamb pals!
Lilli watches and slobbers.... watches and licks her lips...... watches in quivering agony....just hoping hoping hoping one might get away from the mob and she could eat it.......just one............she sooooooooooooo wants to!!!
But back into the pen they all went for the night FAMISHED after their Big Day Out!No doubt they will all sleep well tonight!
Whilst l was out there l noticed a couple of cherries turning bright red in time for Christmas!
Lovely!
